- She married Richard H. Sessums, son of Alexander Sessums and Elizabeth (?), in November 1844 in Montgomery County, Texas.
- Richard H. Sessums and Parmelia A. Sheppard appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1860 in Montgomery PO, Montgomery County, Texas. Other members of the household included Augustus Sessums and George Sessums. Also in the household was grocer H. C. Thompson, age 25.
- The following appeared on 16 April 1862 in The Tri-Weekly Telegraph:
