  • The following appeared on 29 July 1964 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: James J. Hannon, 87, of 1616 Cleveland Ave., died today (July 29, 1964) at Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a short illness.
         He was born in Susquehanna, Pa., July 7, 1877, the son of Patrick and Mary Downs Hannon. He had lived in Niagara Falls for 48 years. In 1942, he retired from the New York Central Railroad.
         Mr. Hannon was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen's Lodge 639 for 66 years and an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus Corning Council 281.
         He is survived by his widow, Amelia Hannon, and one brother, Michael P.l Hannon, Costa Mesa, Calif.
         Services will be held Friday at 8:45 a.m. at the Otto Redanz Funeral Home and at 9:15 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
         The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home Thursday at 8 p.m.
         Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
