- James J. Hannon was born on 7 July 1877 in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania.
- He married Amelia Loretta Koelle, daughter of Johannes Kölle and Mary Theresa Mayer, on 30 September 1924 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, New York, at St. Mary's of the Cataract, with Rev. Cornelius F. Killeen officiating. The marriage was witnessed by Catherine H. Balliett and Howard C. Balliett.
- The following appeared on 3 October 1924 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: The marriage of Miss Amelia L. Koelle, daughter of Mrs. John Koelle, to James J. Hannon, was solemnized Tuesday morning in St. Mary's church, the Rev. C. F. Killeen officiating. The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Catherine H. Balliett, and the groom by Howard C. Balliett. After a wedding trip to New York and Montreal, Mr. and Mrs. Hannon will be at home at No. 1614 Cleveland avenue.

- The following appeared on 29 July 1964 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: James J. Hannon, 87, of 1616 Cleveland Ave., died today (July 29, 1964) at Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a short illness.
He was born in Susquehanna, Pa., July 7, 1877, the son of Patrick and Mary Downs Hannon. He had lived in Niagara Falls for 48 years. In 1942, he retired from the New York Central Railroad.
Mr. Hannon was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen's Lodge 639 for 66 years and an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus Corning Council 281.
He is survived by his widow, Amelia Hannon, and one brother, Michael P.l Hannon, Costa Mesa, Calif.
Services will be held Friday at 8:45 a.m. at the Otto Redanz Funeral Home and at 9:15 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home Thursday at 8 p.m.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
