- The following appeared on 7 October 1932 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: George Koelle, 45 years old, 42 Seventh street, died suddenly at his home this morning. Plans were being made today to hold the funeral Sunday morning. Coroner W. L. Draper said that his investigation showed that Mr. Koelle died from a heart attack and exhaustion. He said the man had arisen at 5 o'clock this morning to go to the bathroom in his home and was seized with a heart attack, falling on the floor. When he was discovered he was dead.
Mr. Koelle was born in Niagara Falls, son of the late John Koelle and Teresa Maier Koelle. He had lived here all his life. He was veteran of the World War and formerly was employed in the stockroom of the Aluminum Company of America. He is survived by one brother, Carl Koelle, of this city, and four sisters, Sister Mary Hildegarde, of Buffalo, and Mrs. Howard C. Balliett, Mrs. James J. Hannon and Mrs. Henry Asma, of this city. He was a brother of the late Frank Koelle.
Mr. Koelle was a member of John J. Welch Post, No. 381, American Legion, and Company E. 108th Infantry, New York National Guard.
