  • The following appeared on 24 May 1910 in The Montgomery Advertiser: (Faunsdale, May 23) The culmination of a pretty romance was the marriage in St. Michael's Church, Faunsdale, of Robert Drake and Miss Nancy Westmoreland Shahan. As the time arrived for the bridal party ot appear Mrs. J. P. Creath of Uniontown sang "As Long as the Time Rolls On., accompanied by Mrs. D. C. Mosley on the organ, and W. Michael, violin.
         With the opening strains of Mendelssohn's march the group of bridesmaids came from the vestry room down the aisle to meet the bride. They were joined at the door by the groomsmen and the ushers. Messrs. I. B. Ulmer and J. A. Boozer led the way back to the chancel. Miss Evelyn Shahan followed with Mr. Alfred Shahan of Demopolis. Miss Ellen Cook of Birmingham and Mr. G. W. Adams, Miss Annie Watkins and Mr. Siddons Stollenwerck. Next was the maid of honor, Miss Elizabeth Shahan of Birmingham.
         Mrs. George Nixon of Newark, N. J., was matron. The little ring bearer, Bruce Jackson, and the flower girl Harriet Jackson, preceded the bride who entered on the arm of her father, Mr. John Shahan. She was gowned in delicate lace and satin. Rev. J. J. Norris pronounced the wedding ceremony.
  • The following appeared on 10 September 1911 in The Montgomery Advertiser: (Uniontown, Sept. 9) Mr. John Shahan of Faunsdale, died Thursday, after an illness of about a week. Interment was at St. Michaels Cemetery.
         Mr. Shahan was a prominent farmer of Marento and leaves a wife and eight children, Mrs. George Nixon of East Orange, N. J., Miss Elizabeth Shahan of Nashville, Tenn., Clifton Shahan of Mississippi and Mrs. R. D. Drake, Misses Evelyn and Nell Shahan of Faunsdale. He was about 65 years old.
  • The following appeared on 22 September 1912 in The Montgomery Advertiser: (Faunsdale) Misses Louise Adams, Nell and Evelyn Shahan returned Saturday from Marion Junction where they spent a week with relatives and friends.
         Miss Nell Shahan left Monday to enter the A. N. C. for the next term.
         Mr. B. C. Adams spent Sunday with his mother.
         . . . Miss Julia McKnight, who leaves Thursday for the Marion Seminary, entertained quite a number of her friends at a dance on Tuesday night. Those present were Misses Bailey, Tellman, Moseley, Brown, Florence Bell, Louise Adams, Dollins, Messrs. Heyward and Windsor Spinks, Hugh Brown, Jim Torbert, Walter Bailey, R. Harris.

  • She married James Albert Boozer, son of Mary Foster, circa 20 October 1914 in Marengo County, Alabama.
