  • Whitten Ward Davis and Eleanor Rebecca Rexer appeared in the US federal census of 1 April 1940 in Pineville, Rapides Parish, Louisiana, at 815 Edenborn Street. Other members of the household included Lou Anna Ward. In 1935, Whitten and Nellie were living in Alexandria, and Louanna in Denton, Texas.
  • The following appeared on 14 May 1940 in The Denton Record-Chronicle: Albert Davis, son of Mrs. Williamw. Davis of Pineville, La., and Miss Mary Ann Rabalais, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. George J. Rabalais of Alexandria, were married April 15 in Alexandria. The couple will make their home in Alexandria. Davis was born and reared in Denton and since her husband's death his mother has been making her home in Pineville with Mr. and Mrs. Whitten W. Davis.
  • The following appeared on 25 May 1940 in The Corsicana Daily Sun: Mrs. Carrie Nixson, aged 69 years, died at her home at Richand Saturday morning. Funeral services will be held from the Baptist church at Richland Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Interment will be in the Richland cemetery. The rites will be conducted by Rev. J. D. Clare and Rev. Van P. Morrison.
         Surviving are two sons, H. E. Nixson and F. D. Nixson, both of Longview; two daughters, Mrs. T. M. Beckham, Wickett, and Mrs. T. E. Orand, Richland; and a sister, Mrs. Lou A. Davis, brother Oscar Ward, Fort Worth, Denton.
         Pallbearers will be Vivian Beckham, James Beckham, Henry Nixson, Frank Nixson, Clifton Orand and S. G. Orand.
         Corley Funeral Home is directing the arrangements.
  • The following appeared on 12 September 1940 in the Denton Record-Chronicle: Word has been received here of the serious illness of Mrs. W. W. Davis of Pineville, La., a former resident of Denton. For the past year Mrs. Davis has made her home with her son, Whitten Davis, in Pineville. In Denton she made her home at 214 Eat Prairie Street. She was taken to a hospital following a severe heart attack last Saturday night.
  • The following appeared on 11 December 1951 in The Denton Record-Chronicle: Word has been received in Denton of the death of Albert Davis, 39, former resident here. Davis died Monday morning in the veterans hospital in Houston.
         Funeral services were to be held this after in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Pineville, La.
         . He was the son of the late W. W. Davis, who lived in Denton for many years. Albert was born and reared here and worked for a local ice company until he went to Louisiana about 10 years ago.
         He is survived by a daughter, Theresa Ann, 9, his mother, and two brothers, Whitten W. Davis of Pineville, and Jarrell Davis of Dallas.
  • The following appeared on 11 December 1951 in the Alexandria Town Talk: Albert Davis died at 11:20 a. m. yesterday, December 10, 1951 in a Houston, Texas hospital. He is survived by one daughter, Theresa Ann Davis; two brothers, W. W. Davis of Pineville and J. W. Davis of Dallas, and his mothr, Mrs. L. A. Davis of Pineville.
         The remains will arrive at 6:05 p. m. today on the Missouri Pacific railroad. Funeral service will be at 10 a. m. tomorrow, December 12, 1951 in Hixson Brothers Chapel.

  • The following appeared on 30 January 1958 in the Alexandria Town Talk: Mrs. Lou Anna Davis, 84, died at 6:20 p. m. Wednesday in an Alexandria hospital. She was a resident of Pineville.
         Funeral services will be held today at 2:30 p. m. from the Sacred Heart Catholic church in Pineville. Interment is to follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with Hixson Bros. funeral Home in charge.
         Survivors include two sons, W. W. of Pineville and J. W. of Livermore, Calif; and a granddaughter, Theresa Ann Davis of Pineville.
  • She was interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park & Mausoleum, Pineville, Rapides Parish, Louisiana.
  • The following appeared on 31 January 1958 in the Alexandria Town Talk: Funeral services for Mrs. Lou Anna Davis, 84, were held at 2:30 p. m. Thursday from the Sacred Heart Catholic church in Pineville with the Rev. V. J. Sepsi officiating. Burial was in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with Hixson Bros. Funeral Home in charge.
         Pallbearers were Merritt Nugent, Hartwell Roberts, O. L. Hyde, H. G. Rabalais, A. E. Moor and Johnny Campo.
