- Whitten Ward Davis and Eleanor Rebecca Rexer appeared in the US federal census of 1 April 1940 in Pineville, Rapides Parish, Louisiana, at 815 Edenborn Street. Other members of the household included Lou Anna Ward. In 1935, Whitten and Nellie were living in Alexandria, and Louanna in Denton, Texas.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. [:CR;] Davis died at 2 p.m. Saturday in a hospital in Ruidoso, N.M., where he and Mrs. Davis had gone on their vacation. He had become ill about two weeks ago in New Mexico and was hospitalized but seemed to be recovering. [:CR;] A native of Richland County, Tex., he went to work for a subsidiary of the old Louisiana Ice and Electric Co. while he was a student at North Texas State University in Denton.
He moved to Pineville with the company, forerunner of CLECO, in 1929 and had been with the organization 37 years, eight of them as division manager.
He was an area civic leader for many years and served on numerous committees, particularly those contributing to the growth and development of Pineville. He was given the city's distinguished service award in 1948.
He was a charter member, past president and secretary of the Pineville Kiwanis Club and was honored recently as the only active charter member. [:CR;] He is survived by his wife, the former Nellie Rexer; a daughter [sic], Mrs. Theresa Ann D. Ramos, Pineville; a nephew, Ross Brunson of Memphis, Tenn., and a granddaughter. - The SSDI lists Pineville, Rapides Parish, Louisiana, as the last residence of record of Eleanor Rebecca Rexer.

- The following appeared on 6 August 1979 in the Alexandria Town Talk: Services for Nellie Davis, 70, of Pineville were to be at 2 p.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pineville, with th Rev. James Foster officiating. Burial was to be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park under direction of Hixson Bros., Pineville.
Mrs. Davis died at 11:50 p.m. Saturday in Doctor's Hospital, Tioga. She was office manager for Provine Studios, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its altar society, Catholic Daughters of America and Lander Reizner Garden Club. She was the widow of Whtten W. Davis.
Survivors incude a daughter [sic] Theresa Ramos of Boyce; a sister, Lorraine R. Pellinger of Pineville; and five grandchildren.
The family has requested memorials to the church. - The following appeared on 7 August 1979 in the Alexandria Town Talk: Services for Nellie Davis were held at 2 p.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pineville, with the Revs. Philip Michiels and James Foster officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park under direction of Hixson Bros., Pineville.
Pallbearers were Lane Lennon, Jerry McGaugh, Weymon Clark, Roger Vocque, Curtis Lamott and Joe Simms. - She was interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park & Mausoleum, Pineville, Rapides Parish, Louisiana. Her name is recorded as Eleanor Davis in cemetery records and the Social Security Death Index.
