  • The following appeared on 5 July 1931 in The Salt Lake Tribune: Mrs. Emma Nelson of Murray announces the marriage of her daughter, Mabel, to Charles Melton Pegues of Urbana, Ill. The wedding took place Thursday evening, June 25, at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. J. Lester Ronneburg.
         The ceremony was performed at 6:30 p. m. by the Rev. Elmer I. Goshen. The bride wore a dainty frock of blue organdy and carried a bouquet of pink rosebuds and lilies of the valley. She was attended by her sister, Mrs. Ronneburg. James Mather of Paris, Ill., was the best man. A wedding dinner followed the ceremony.
         The groom attended the University of Texas and Illinois and in June received the degree of doctor of philosophy at the latter institution. He is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha social fraternity and Sigma Delta Pi and Pi Delta Pi, honorary fraternities.
         After September 1 the young couple will make their home in Forsyth, Ga.

A. degrees from the University of Texas and his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois. He has taught at Hillsboro college, Texas; and comes from Georgetown college, where he was head of romance languages. . . .

Pegues, and son, Claude Pegues, who have made their home in Illinois for the past two years. They have returned to their old home here.
