- The following appeared on 27 August 1914 in The Attica News: Mrs. Eunice Rice, wife of Martin Rice of Cattaraugus, died on Thursday night, August 20th, at the home of her son, Mr. Norman Guenther of Colden, after a long illness due to heart trouble and dropsy, aged 72 years. Mrs. Rice was taken ill last spring, while visiting at the home of her son. Her husband and three sons,William H. Guenther of Attica, Norman Guenther of Colden and Philip Guenther of Holland, survive her.
The funeral was held on Sunay at 12 p.m. from the home of her son in Colden and burial took place in the cemetery at Glenwood. - William H. Besides her husband she leaves a son, Gaylord Guenther, and a grandson, Jack Guenther of Niagara Falls; two brothers, Charles Davis of Varysburg and Ephraim Davis of Rochester, and a sister, Mrs. Thomas Graham of Rochester. The funeral will be held at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning from her late home, the Rev. Charles Parkhurst of Endicott, formerly of Attica, officiating. The burial will take place in the Forest Hill cemetery. - He married Addie Hicks. Addie was the widow of William's first wife Cora's brother Charles Davis..

Morris and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Keem and daughters of Arcade. Mrs. Guenther's great grandson sang Happy Birthday. There were 18 present including all of her children, grandchildren and also one great grandchild. She received money and many nice gifts. Congratulations.

William Guenther, 84, well known Varysburg Carpenter and cabinet maker, died at 11 o'clock Friday, Dec. 12, 1952 at the War[saw] hospital after a long illness. Survivors include a brother, Norman of Springville, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Sunday at the Marley Funeral Home with Rev. Coyne Gifford, pastor of the Presbyterian church of Attica officiating. Burial at Forest Hill cemetery, Attica.
