         Born in Sheldon on July 11, 1889, he was the son of the late William and Adell Shaw Libby. He served as night watchman at the former Wyoming County Home in Varysburg for 20 years.
         Surviving are his wife, the former Mae Davis; a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Iola) Bon Donna of Mt. Morris; a son, Gordon Libby Jr. of Varysburg; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild and several cousins.
