He was born June 27, 1851, at Bryan, received his education in Kentucky and took postgraduate work in Belleview Hospital, New York. He was married to Miss Theresa Antoinette Horton of McKinney, Dec. 22, 1875, three children being born to this union. His first wife dying, he married Miss Vallie Robertson in Dallas in 1910. For thirty years he practiced his profession in this city.
         Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Toy Kreas and Miss May McIver, and a son, Otto McIver, former Texas League baseball star, all of Dallas, and a sister, Mrs. Joe Grisset of Waco.

  • She was interred at Zion Methodist Cemetery, Iola, Grimes County, Texas.
