Grandfather of Laura Leigh Thomason, Susan Elizabeth Gawik and husband Anthony, Katherine Ann Weikel and husband Colby, and Amy Elizabeth Thomason; great-grandfather of Reid Thomason Weikel. Uncle to many beloved nieces and nephews. Loved by Michael, Arlene, Ethan and Brandon Goldsmith; Patrick, Lana, Conner and Evan Goldsmith; Matt and Joey Goldsmith; Julie, Bill and William David; Mike, Joanna, Gray and Kristi Madden; Sara, Greg, Anna and Adam Reyero; John and Nancy Madden; Ben, Sabrina, Kyla and Meredith Madden; Merrit, James, Paul, Jessica and Alex Madden. A native of Cairo, Georgia, and a resident of New Orleans and Slidell, La. for 66 years. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Thomason was head of the Accounting Branch Fiscal Division of the New Orleans Office of Commodity Credit Corporation of the Federal Department of Agriculture. He was one of the founders and past president of the NODA Federal Credit Union and was also past president of the Louisiana Credit Union League. He was ordained a deacon at St. Charles Avenue Baptist Church and also served many years at Gentilly Baptist Church in New Orleans and First Baptist Church of New Orleans. He also served on the Board of Global Maritime Ministries. He was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church in Slidell for the past eight years. The family deeply appreciates the loving care of their papa by Anna, Doris, Christine, Tomekia and Kent. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at 10 a.m., at Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Cairo, Georgia, with burial in the Cairo Cemetery. The family will recieve friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Global Maritime Ministries, P.O.
