- He married Martha Hallum, daughter of James Hallum and Ann Baker, on 7 October 1819 in Davidson County, Tennessee.
- Iredell Reding became a widower at the 11 October 1826 death of his wife Martha Hallum.
- He married Nancy Brooks, daughter of John Brooks and Ann Stuart, say 1830.
- John Baker Reding became a ward of his brother Iredell Reding upon the death of his father.
- Iredell Reding and Nancy Brooks appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1850 in Montgomery County, Texas. Other members of the household included Elizabeth C. Reding and John Baker Reding.
- He was a farmer, according to the 1850 census.
- On Tuesday, 29 October 1850, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Give Mr. Reding an order on Rice & Nichols for $20 for a pair of young steers."
- On Saturday, 1 February 1851, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Hawled four loads of corn from Mr Reding's, 138 bushels at $1.25 per bushel."
- On Friday, 7 March 1851, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Mr J. S. Collard paid Mr Reding my Note of 196.65 to be paid to him at Rice & Nichols Houston."
- On Friday, 7 March 1851, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Mr J. S. Collard paid Mr Reding my Note of $196, 65 to be paid to him at Rice & Nichols Houston."
- Green Wood wrote on 29 August 1852, to an acquaintance in Georgia: ". . . One of my near neighbors (Mr. R.) rode with me in my corn a few days since, and thinks it the best eared corn that he ever saw. He is of the opinion that it will produce seventy-five bushels per acre, and what gives his opinion weight is, that he is a Tennessean. . . ."
- Evelina Wood wrote on 14 May 1855, to her daughter Lizzie Powell, undergoing treatment for cancer in Murfreesboro, Tennessee: ". . . Mr Mayfield & Miss Seymour were married last evening at three o'clock. Mr Redding gave them a dinner to-day . . . ."

- He was a brick mason, according to the 1860 census.
- Green Wood recorded: "1860, Nov 5th: Paid Iredel Reding for Brick for Double Chimney & Pillars for New house (11,500 Brick), $92.00; Paid John Reding for Brick, $58, and for plastering 3 cisterns, $28; Paid E. A. Anderson for Painting Blinds, $19. Nov 6th: Paid C. H. King for work on New House, $259.00; Paid King & Stubblefield for Lumber, $131.00, for Window sash, Blinds & Doors, Hawling."
- Iredell Reding became a widower at the 1861 death of his wife Levi C. Boles.
- Iredell Reding died on 9 May 1864 at age 72 in Texas in the vicinity of Danville.
- He was interred at the old Danville cemetery, Montgomery County, Texas, on present-day Shepard Hill road, near Willis.
