Services will be today at 4:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Stanton with Rev. Richard Payne officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of Stanton, three sons, W. C. Houston Jr. of Stanton, Pegues Houston of Morton, and Sam Houston of Stanton; one daughter, Mrs. L. E. Burnstedt of Riverside, Calif; one sister, Mrs. H. Grady Spruce of Dallas; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. - At the time of her death, her usual residence was in Stanton, Martin County, Texas, at 707 North St. Francis Street.
- Helen Belle Pegues died on 16 May 1981 at age 89 in Stanton, Martin County, Texas, at Stanton View Manor.
- She was interred at Evergreen Cemetery, Stanton, Martin County, Texas.
