Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper. Mrs. Nash passed away Friday, February 15, 2002 at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper. A native of Beauregard Parish, LA and a former resident of Nacogdoches TX and Arkansas, She lived in Jasper for the past 30 years. A graduate of Nacogdoches High School, she attended Stephen F. Austin State Teachers College. She worked for many years as an abstractor throughout Texas and retired as a Bookkeeper and Clerk with Gibsons Dept. Stores in Nacogdoches and Jasper. Survivors include her son, John D. Nash and wife Jonetta of Jasper; daughters, Jean White and husband Jim of Kilgore, TX; Frances Tucker and husband Frank of Nacogdoches, TX; Shelley Turner and husband Jerry of Lake Fork, TX; Ona Jo Nash and Judy Nash both of Jasper and a special adopted daughter Julie Hancock and husband Gene of Jasper. She is also survived by a sister, Mildred Brummett of Plano, TX; an aunt, Mary Frances Millwee of Lufkin, seventeen grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren. Mrs. Nash was preceded in death by her husband Wood Nash and two daughters, Lura McGowen and Eunice Nash. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
