He was operated on at the hospital Tuesday at noon. His condition, although at first thought to be more favorable, took a turn for the worse and the end came this morning.
Saturday night, Mr. Mitchell became sick. Thinking it a slight attack of indigestion or colic, he did not at once consult a physician. As his condition grew worse, he was carried to the hospital, where he was operated on Tuesday to remove the appendix. His death was the result.
Jule Mitchell came to Columbus from Pittsview, Ala., where he was born. Twenty-four years ago today, he was married to Ellen Hardin by Dr. Robert Harris. The past fifteen years, he has been in the mercantile brokerage business, having been associated with E. L. Stanley for a number of years.
