Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel in LaGrange, with burial in Rosemere Cemetery in Opelika. Mrs. Cullars was born April 14, 1908 to the late Alexander and Maggie Will Wooddy Torbert.

Antonia Rebecca Torbert Cullars, 95, of LaGrange, Ga., died March 25, 2004, in LaGrange after an extended illness. /P/ Mrs. Cullars, a native of Old Spring Hill in Marengo County, was born in Linden, Ala., in 1908. She was the daughter of Maggie Will Wooddy Torbert of Oakbowery (Chambers County) and Alexander Torbert of Linden. /P/ Her mother died in 1909 at an early age, and her father gave her into the foster care of her aunt and uncle, Eva Hunt Wooddy and Louise Massey Wooddy of Gold Hill, who raised her as their child. /P/ Mrs. Cullars graduated in home economics from Alabama College for Women in Montevallo and began teaching at Abbeville. She married Walter Cullars Jr. of Opelika, and they lived in Roanoke and West Point, Ga., before moving to LaGrange in 1945. /P/ She taught home economics in Randolph County and later taught biology at Troup County High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church of LaGrange for over 59 years and was active as Circle Leader for the Baptist Missionary Society. /P/ Survivors include a son, Walter Cullars III of Lookout Mountain, Tenn; a daughter, Dorothy Antonia Cullars Waugh of Canton, Ga; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. /P/ Services were in the chapel of Hunter Allen Myhand Funeral Home, LaGrange, on Monday, with Dr. Paul Baxter officiating. Committal services were at Rosemere Cemetery, Opelika.
