Gordon B. Libby was born on 11 July 1889 in Sheldon, Wyoming County, New York.
He married Mae Henrietta Davis, daughter of Charles E. Davis and Addie Hicks.
William Libby and Adell Shaw appeared in the US federal census of 1 January 1920 in Sheldon, Wyoming County, New York, at Big Tree Road enumerated not far from the household of Charles Davis.. Other members of the household included Gordon B. Libby, George Libby and Mae Henrietta Davis.
He was a farmer working out, according to the 1920 census.
Gordon B. Libby died on 23 July 1971 at age 82 in Warsaw, Wyoming County, New York, at Wyoming Community Hospital.
The following appeared on 3 August 1971 in The Wyoming County Times: (Attica) Gordon B. Libby, 82, of 2439 Main St., Varysburg, died Friday (July 23, 1971) at Wyoming Community Hospital in Warsaw where he had been a patient two days.
Born in Sheldon on July 11, 1889, he was the son of the late William and Adell Shaw Libby. He served as night watchman at the former Wyoming County Home in Varysburg for 20 years.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mae Davis; a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Iola) Bon Donna of Mt. Morris; a son, Gordon Libby Jr. of Varysburg; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild and several cousins.
