         Mr. and Mrs. Masser, who were married April 18, 1909, in Niagara Falls, Ont., renewed their marriage vows Saturday at Sacred Heart Church. The couple resided in Smethport, Pa., and Clearfield, Pa. before moving to this area 26 years ago. Mr. Masser has been in the awning business in this city for 26 years. Mrs. Masser, the former Miss Rose Sporer is a native of this city.
         For the party, Mrs. Masser received friends and relatives wearing a navy blue lace and crepe dress with a white orchid corsage.
         Hosts at the party were the couple's three children, Joseph Masser, Rochester; Mrs. William Hughes, Lewiston, and Paul Masser, Linwood Ave.
         They have five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
  • Rose A. Sporer died on 15 July 1967 at age 80 in Lewiston, Niagara County, New York, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital.

  • The following appeared on 16 July 1967 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Mrs. Rose A. Masser, 80, of 180 North Seventh St., Lewiston, died Saturday (July 15, 1967) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital after an illness of two months.
         She was born in Buffalo, and came to this city in 1888. In 1909, she moved to Pennsylvania and returned to Niagara Falls after 24 years. Mrs. Masser moved to Lewiston in 1959.
         In 1933, F. J. Masser & Son Awning Works was formed by her husband, Mrs. Masser assisted her husband with the shop operations. She was active in the business until 1959.
         She is survived by her husband, Frederick J. Masser; a daughter, Mrs. William (Audene) Hughes, Lewiston; two sons, Josef F. and Paul E. Masser, both of this city; two brothers, Clarence Sporer of this city and Brother David Sporer OFM, of New York City; two sisters, Mrs. John (Magdalene) Focazio and Mrs. Norman (Agnes) [K]umm, both of this city; seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
         Mrs. Masser was also the sister of the late Mrs. Ann Ellis and R. C. Sporer who died last week.
         Funeral services will be conducted at the Rhoney Funeral Home Tuesday at 8:30 a.m., and at St. Peter's Church, Lewiston, at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
