  • The following appeared on 14 June 1907 in The Montgomery Advertiser: Arthur Elsberry, the 1-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. LeGrand, of Clooverdale, died at the home of the parents last evening at 9 o'clock after a short illness. Death was unexpected, though the illness of the child was known to be of a serious nature.
         The funeral services will be conducted from the residence this afternoon at 5 o'clock. Rev. E. E. Cobbs, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, will officiate, and interment will be made in Oakwood Cemetery.
  • The following appeared on 15 June 1907 in The Montgomery Advertiser: The funeral services of Arthur Elsberry LeGrand, the 1-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. LeGrande [sic] of Cloverdale, who died at the home of the parents thursday evening, were conducted yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock from the residence. Rev. E. E. Cobbs, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, officiated. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.
         The funeral services were largely attended, and the abundance of flowers at the residence and at the grave illustrated the love and esteem in which the baby boy and his parents were held. The pall-bearers were Arthur Elsberry, Will Elsberry, Jack Thorington and Hunt Taylor.

  • William Homer LeGrand and Kate S. Elsberry appeared in the US federal census of 1 April 1930 in Montgomery, Alabama. Other members of the household included William Homer LeGrand Jr.
  • William Homer LeGrand and Kate S. Elsberry appeared in the US federal census of 1 April 1940 in Montgomery, Alabama, at 419 Fairview Avenue. They were living in the same house in 1935.
  • Kate S. Elsberry became a widow at the 5 February 1945 death of her husband William Homer LeGrand.
  • She was interred at Oakwood Annex, Montgomery, Alabama.
  • Kate S. Elsberry died on 24 December 1949 at age 70.
