John Adair Murray

  • John Adair Murray was born circa April 1839 in Mississippi.
  • By order of Maj. Gen. John B. Magruder, on 26 Feb 1863 1st Sgt. Adair Murray, 1st Sergeant, Company D, 5th Texas Regiment, Robertson's Brigade, Hood's Division, was appointed Aide-de-Camp to General Magruder, and in May was appointed 1st Lieutenant. In Sept. 1864, 1st Lt. J. A. Murray was promoted to the rank of Captain of Cavalry.
