At four o'clock this afternoon Miss Maria Louise Wells and Mr. Justin Thurston Percival will be married at the home of the bride on Thirteenth street, and at eight o'clock tonight, Miss Gertrude Phelps and Mr. Thomas Dixon are to be unitd in the holy bonds of matrimony at the residence of the bride's father, Dr. George Phelps, on Eleventh street.
Mr. and Mrs. Percival, after the ceremony, will leave for Virginia to visit the family of the groom.
At the home of Dr. Phelps tonight will be given a large reception by Mr. and Mrs. Dixon to their friends. - He married Gertrude Phelps on 20 November 1901.
- Thomas Brooks Dixon registered for the draft in 1918 in Muscogee County, Georgia, while living with his wife Gertrude at 1109 2nd Avenue in Columbus, and employed there as a division freight agent by Southern Railroad System.
- The following appeared on 20 June 1919 in The Columbus Ledger: Dr. and Mrs. C. Amory Dexter were hosts at a beautiful dinner party last evening at their home on Fifth avenue.
The guests were seated at small tables and one large table, and each was centered with a bouquet of summer flowers.
An elaborate course dinner was served, and among those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dixon, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Dixon, Mr. and Mrs. Park Dexter, Mr. and Mrs. Mac Dexter, Mr. and Mrs. [sic] Alique McDougald, Mr. and Mrs. Frances Norman, Dr. and Mrs. W. L. Cooke, Dr. and Mrs. Clifford Peacock, Dr. and Mrs. A. P. Gordy, Mr. and Mrs. Turner Berry, Miss Helen Dexter, Dr. and Mrs. R. P. Griffith. - Thomas Brooks Dixon died on 26 January 1922 at age 46.
- He was interred at Linwood Cemetery, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia.
- The following appeared on 28 January 1922 in The Columbus Enquirer Sun: The funeral services for Thomas B. Dixon, who died suddenly Thursday afternoon, will be conducted from the Trinity Episcopal church at three o'clock this afternoon. /P/ The services will be conducted by Rev. S. Alston Wragg, rector of the Trinity church and interment will be held in Linwood cemetery.
