- The following appeared on 10 March 1908 in The Columbus Daily Enquirer: F. S. Tainter, vice-president of the Hudson Engineering Company, which has a contract to bore artesian wells for the city of Columbus, spent yesterday in the city. Mr. Tainter did not come to Columbus primarily on business, but as he chanced to be in this section of the country, he decided to make a trip to the city. While here he was the guest of Captain T. E. Blanchard. /P/ Mr. Tainter said that the work for boring the wells would begin in a few days. The Artesian Well and Supply Company, of Providence, R. I., have been given a sub-contract to do the work will be under the direct supervision of Mr. Anderson, who is the chief mechanical engineer for the Hudson Engineering Company.
- The following appeared on 9 March 1911 in The Columbus Ledger: Mr. F. S. Tainter, of New York, special engineer of the Hudson Engineering company, arrived in the city from Atlanta this morning where he has been inspecting some work that is being done by his company, and today visited the pumping station and wells of the company below this city. /P/ Mr. Tainter made a thorough investigation of the work that is being done here and is pleased with the conditions as he found them. He is confident that there will be no trouble in supplying the city with the required amount of water in a short time. /P/ Mr. Tainter only stopped over for today and left the city this afternoon on his tour of inspection for the company with which he is associated.
- The following appeared on 25 April 1915 in The New York Times: (Morristown, N.J., April 24) Portraits in oil of George and Martha Washington from the brush of Gilbert Stuart, the famous Continental artist, are disposed of in the will of Mrs. Josephine C. Tainter, which was offered for probate today. They are bequeathed to her son, Frank S. Tainter, of Far Hills. The value of the paintings is not set forth in the will, but it is known that they are worth many thousands of dollars, and numerous high offers had been made for them.
Mrs. Tainter's personal effects will be divided among her three children, the others being Charles B. Tainter of Brooklyn and Mrs. Alice D. Abell of this city. - Frank Stone Tainter and Susan Bayard Ryckman appeared in the US federal census of 1 January 1920 in Far Hills, Somerset County, New Jersey, at Mine Mount.

- The following appeared on 26 September 1941 in The New York Times: (Far Hills, N. J., Sept. 25) Colonel Frank Stone Tainter, who was associated for years with the engineering firm of Parson, Brinkerhoff & Clapp in New York, died at his home here today after an illness of several months. His age was 79.
Colonel Tainter was born in Morristown, N. J., a son of the late Thomas P. and Josephine Brooks Tainter. His work as a construction engineer took him into many parts of the country. He built the Carnegie Lake at Princeton University, and the Ravine Lake on the C. Ledyard Blair estate here, and also was one of the engineers on the building of the river tunnel at Detroit.
He was a lieutenant colonel in the Engineering Corps of the United States Army during the World War, and was stationed at Aberdeen, Md., testing ordnance for several years.
He leaves a widow, the former Miss Susan Bayard of Morristown. Frank G. Abel of Morristown, former State Senator, is a nephew.
