- The following appeared on 7 August 1903 in the Wise County Messenger: Mrs. Dr. J. H. Edgar (nee Miss Ruth Milligan), daughter of T. F. Milligan, of Greenwood, died at Childress, Texas, yesterday. The remains were brought down on the early train this morning and carried to Greenwood, where the funeral and interment takes place this afternoon. Mrs. Edgar was well and very favorably known here, and all will be sad to learn that such a young and lovely character has met an untimely death.
