Mr. Piatt had been ill for one year. He had lived in El Paso since 1912, coming here from Park Ridge, Ill.
He was sales manager for Heid Brothers. He served on the Sun Carnival board of directors, was a member of the Knife and Fork Club, a member of El Paso Council No. 638 Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph's Church.
Surviving him are his widow; two daughters, Frances Jane and Keithley Spaulding; his mother, Mrs. Rose Walker Piatt of Wichita, Kan; four brothers, E. Donn Piatt of Shreveport, La., Robert Piatt of Long Beach, Cal., Tec Piatt of Pomona and Joe Piatt of Saudi, Arabia.
Mrs. Piatt's brothers are Bernard Buchanan, district attorney of Del Rio; Rev. Henry Buchanan, pastor of Our Lady of the Valley Church in the Lower Valley; and Percy Buchanan of Los Alamos, N. M.
