The following appeared on 11 May 1975 in the Lexington Herald-Leader: George Swinebroad, the world's foremost horse auctioneer, died yesterday in Houston, Texas, after undergoing heart surgery Friday afternoon. The 73-year-old Swinebroad, a native of Lancaster, Kentucky, had been scheduled to undergo heart surgery Monday. Swinebroad, who resided at 173 Tahomo Road, was president of the Swinebroad-Denton Real Estate Agency, Inc.
