She was born November 5, 1937, in Sulphur Branch, Texas. Marjorie received a bachelor’s degree from Mary-Hardin-Baylor University in Belton, Texas in 1959. She received a master’s degree in Missions from Southern seminary in Louisville, Ky. in 1963. She served on the Baptist Home Mission Board in Kentucky and Georgia from 1964-1969. Marjorie then received a Master’s degree in Library Science from Sam Houston State University in 1990. She worked as a librarian for Richards ISD and Coldspring ISD and later in the Navasota Public Library with the Senior Texas Employment Program (STEP). She was a longtime member of the Richards Baptist Church in Richards. She was preceded in death by her husband James Marion Boring; her parents Thomas William Shead and Azalene McDonald Shead; and brother William Carroll Shead. She is survived by brother Robert Andrew “Henry” Shead of Richards, sister-in-law Thalia Smith Shead of Pasadena, nieces, cousins, many special friends and a community who loved her dearly.
