- Moses Manley Camp was born on 24 March 1839 in Alabama.
- He married Dorothy Elizabeth Jett, daughter of Lester Jett, on 17 July 1868 in Grimes County, Texas.
- The following appeared on 19 June 1877 in The Galveston Daily News: The press dispatches from Washington of the 12th said Moses M. Camp had been commissioned postmaster at Navasota, Texas. A private dispatch from Navasota says Dr. R. Quinney is the lucky man, commissioned by the President for Navasota postoffice.
- His wife Dorothy Elizabeth Jett became a widow at his death.
- Moses Manley Camp died on 8 July 1888 at age 49.
- He was interred at the Camp family cemetery, Navasota, Grimes County, Texas.
- The following appeared on 21 October 1888 in The Galveston Daily News: (Navasota, Oct. 20) On Thursday the case of J. H. Mooring, charged with the murder of Moses Camp, a rival hotel Keeper, at the union depot, on the night of July 10, was taken up in the district court at Anderson, and the special venire was exhausted before a jury was obtained. The case went to the jury last night and this morning they returned a verdict of not guilty.
The case against his son Seth, indicted on the same charge, was continued until the next term.
