- Dorothy Elizabeth Jett was born on 8 December 1848 in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia.
- Moses Camp enlisted as a private on 31 August 1861 in Company C, 5th Texas Regiment of Mounted Volunteers, and was taken prisoner 26 March 1862.
- She married Moses Manley Camp on 17 July 1868 in Grimes County, Texas.
- Dorothy Elizabeth Jett became a widow at the 8 July 1888 death of her husband Moses Manley Camp.
- The following appeared on 21 October 1888 in The Galveston Daily News: (Navasota, Oct. 20) On Thursday the case of J. H. Mooring, charged with the murder of Moses Camp, a rival hotel Keeper, at the union depot, on the night of July 10, was taken up in the district court at Anderson, and the special venire was exhausted before a jury was obtained. The case went to the jury last night and this morning they returned a verdict of not guilty.
The case against his son Seth, indicted on the same charge, was continued until the next term. - She married James Buchanan Runnels, son of Dudley Runnels and Mary Ann Frances Ellington, on 19 May 1898 in Grayson County, Texas.

- Dorothy Elizabeth Jett died on 6 January 1930 at age 81 in Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas, at 2400 Proctor Street at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alice Cuthrell.
- She was interred at Greenlawn Cemetery.
