An active member of the Thomasville United Methodist Church, Mrs. Nichols served as secretary of the Zaza Frances Guild, secretary of the United Methodist Women, and was a member of the Truthseekers Sunday School Class.
She had been a homemaker for 47 years.
Mrs. Nichols is survived by her husband, Selwyn Carleton Nichols, of Thomasville; one daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Huffaker of Montgomery; two sons, John Selwyn Nichols of Thomasville and Trice Carleton Nichols of Prattville, Ala; her mother, Nell Trice of Spanish Fort; one sister, Nanelle Trice Adams of Grove Hill, Ala; one brother, Dr. Peter Alba Trice Jr. of Tuscaloosa; seven grandchildren; and other relatives.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville, with interment in Choctaw Corner Cemetery.
