- Jack Farrar Matchett was born on 5 December 1900 in Navarro County, Texas.
- The following appeared on 18 July 1922 in the Corsicana Daily Sun: (Dallas, July 18) Announcement has been received of the marriage of Jack Matchett, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Matchett, 2609 1-2 Maple avenue, and Miss Rebecca Evans Pegues, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Pegues of Columbus, Miss. Mrs. Matchett is well known in Dallas, where she was women's athletic director at Southern Methodist University during the last year. Mr. Matchett has been a student in the university for several years.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Matchett and Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Matchett will leave Wednesday for an automobile trip to Colorado. On their return about Sept. 1, the young couple will be a home at 26 1-2 Maple avenue. - He married Rebecca Evans Pegues, daughter of Malachi Christopher Pegues and Ida Johnson, circa 1923.
- The following appeared on 24 February 1956 in the Pakota Register: Mrs. Jack Matchett's mother, Mrs. Ida Pegues, celebrated her 90th birthday on Monday, Feb. 13.
She received many cards and gifts. Mrs. Anne Basch and Mrs. Jessie Lewis both baked her beautiful birthday cakes.
Mrs. Pegues spent a quiet birthday anniversary as she has been ill four months at the home of her daughter. She was very grateful to everyone who remembered her. - Jack Farrar Matchett died on 22 January 1986 at age 85 in Osceola County, Florida.
- His wife Rebecca Evans Pegues became a widow at his death.
