Mr. Pegues was born at Charleston, a son of the late Sarius O. Pegues and Mrs. Nonie Simons Pegues. He was a prominent Marlboro County farmer.
Surviving are: a son, Rufus James Pegues of Conway; a sister, Mrs. R.J. Morgan of Charlottesville, Va; vour grandchildren.
