• She married James Ernest Funderburk, son of James Thomas Funderburk and Mary (?), circa 27 December 1909 in Cheraw, Chesterfield County, South Carolina, at the Baptist Church.
• The following appeared on 2 January 1910 in The State: (Cheraw, Jan. 1) A beautiful wedding was solemnized in the Baptist church on Tuesday evening at 6:30 o'clock when Miss Mary E. Sellers and Dr. James Funderburk were united in marriage, the pastor, Dr. L. H. Shuch, officiating. The church was very prettily decorated in green and white, Southern smilax being used against a white background over the pulpit arch, handsome ferns and palms banking the rostrum. The organ was presided over by mrs. Julius Covington, who gave numbers of pretty selections before the bridal party arrived. The young bride entered with her sister, Miss Cla[i]re Sellers, as maid o honor. She was lovely and girlish in her gown of brocaded satin with pearl trimmings, her tulle veil being caught by a diamond and pearl brooch, and carrying bride's roses and ferns. The maid of honor wore pale green messaline, with baby Irish trimmings and carried white carnations. The groom was attended by a partner, Dr. E. N. Lawrence, as best man. The ushers were Messrs. Louis Meiklejohn, J. W. Malloy and C. K. Waddill. The bridesmaids and groomsmen were: Misses Ella Sellers, Alma Funderburk, Ola Huntley, Nannie Conn of Raleigh, Clare Page, Christian Hauley of Charlotte, N. C., Mildred Stephenson, Bessie Powe, Mary Barrett and Messrs. S. G. Godfrey, Joe Lindsay, Dr. Key, Mae Cameron of Laurinburg, N. C., Philip Murray, Jule McGregor, Henry Wannamaker, Reece Funderburk, J. W. Malloy. The maids wore dainty lingerie gowns, elaborately trimmed with lace and carried bunches of mistletoe, caught with tulle. Dr. and Mrs. Funderburk left on the northbound Seaboard for Baltimore, where they expected to remain until the first of April. The bride's going-away gown was of handsome navy blue cloth, with hat and gloves to match.
       Among the out-of-town guests were: Mrs. E. B. Barrett from Peachland, N. C., Mrs. Charles Duke from Nashville, Tenn., Mr. James T. Funderburk and Miss Atha Funderburk from Dudley, Mrs. George Bailes, Anderson.
• The following appeared on 2 January 1910 in the Charleston News & Courier: (Cheraw, January 1) The Baptist Church was the scene last night of a beautiful wedding. Dr. J. E. Funderburk and Miss Mary Sellers became man and wife, the Rev. Dr. L. H. Shuck, pastor of the church officiating. The church was beautifully decorated, and was filled with their many friends, who wish them a joyous and prosperous journey through life: Dr. E. N. Lawrence was best man, and Miss Clare Sellers, sister of the bride, maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Misses Ella Sellers, Atha Funderburk, Clare Page, Ola Huntley, Bessie Powe, Nannie Coun, of Raleigh, and Miss Stevenson and Mary Barrett, of Monroe, N. C. The groomsmen were S. G. Godfrey, P. A. Murray, Jr., Joe Lindsay, H. W. Wannamaker, Reese Funderburk, of Jefferson, R. F. Kee, Mac Cameron, J. W. Malloy, and the ushers, Messrs. C. K. Waddill and L. A. Meiklejohn.
       The bride is the popular and attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. a. Sellers, and Dr. Funderburk is a rising young dentist of Cheraw.
       After the cermony the couple left for Washington, Baltimore and New York, after which Dr. Funderburk will be demonstrator for three months at the Baltimore Dental College, and will at the same time take a post-graduate course. Their future home will be Cheraw.

Other members of the household included Louise Funderburk. Also in the household were children James E. Jr., Judie, Jack and Thomas, not yet recorded.
• The following appeared on 19 December 1921 in the Greensboro Daily News: (Hickory, Dec. 18) Miss Virginia Sellers went to Cheraw, S. C., Wednesday to spend several days with Mrs. J. E. Funderburk.
• James Ernest Funderburk and Mary Elizabeth Sellers appeared in the US federal census of 1 April 1930 in Cheraw, Chesterfield County, South Carolina, at Kershaw Street. Other members of the household included Louise Funderburk. Also in the household were children James E. Jr. (age 19), Jule (18), Jack (16), Thomas (14), Gene (4) and Nancy 1).
• Her husband James Ernest Funderburk became a widower at her death.
• Mary Elizabeth Sellers died on 29 April 1934 at age 44 in Cheraw, Chesterfield County, South Carolina.
