- She married James Towler Whitfield, son of William Whitfield and Mary Towler, on 2 December 1798 in Leasburg, Caswell County, North Carolina, with Richard Minshew and Jesse Dickins acting as bondsmen/witnesses.
- While a number of researchers have published the following dates, it is unlikely that Susannah died on 3 May 1832, that Victoria was born (to either Susanna or Elizabeth) on 29 May 1832, and that James and Elizabeth married on 9 August 1832. One or more of these dates must be in error.
- Her husband James Towler Whitfield became a widower at her death.
- Susannah Minchew died circa 1832 in Person County, North Carolina.
- She was interred at Whitfield Cemetery, Bushy Fork, Person County, North Carolina.
