       He was born May 30, 1907, in Montgomery, Tex. He resided at 3030 7th St. in Port Arthur.
       Survivors include his wife, Gladys Whitfield of Port Arthur; a daughter, Mrs. Mardell Sevcik of Bryan; and three grandchildren.
       Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday with a Rosary Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Chapel, Bryan, Texas.
       Mrs. Whitfield was born in Louisiana, May 8, 1913. She was a housewife and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Her husband, Martel Whitfield, preceded her in death.
       Survivors are her daughter, Mardell Sevcik and her husband, Leon of Bryan, Texas; grandchildren Pat Sevcik of Austin, Texas and Lisa Lindemulder of Arlington, Texas; 2 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
