• Frances I. Humphries was born on 12 March 1899 in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia.
• Charles P. Vaughn and Emma Laura Garvin appeared in the US federal census of 15 April 1910 in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia, at 363 Luckie Street. Other members of the household included Frances I. Humphries, Ruth L. Vaughn, Eddie Vaughn, Eula B. Vaughn, Homer Lawton Humphries, Albert Thomas Humphries and Laura Virginia Humphries.
• She married Claude Wynne Pegues, son of Oliver Hazard Pegues and Henrie S. Dyer, circa 1919.
• Claude Wynne Pegues and Frances I. Humphries appeared in the US federal census of 1 April 1930 in Pierce County, Washington, at Fort Lewis Military Reservation.
• Frances I. Humphries arrived in the Port of New York on 19 April 1935, accompanied by Frances Ouida Pegues and Peggy Jean Pegues aboard the US Army Transport SS Republic, having departed Cristobal, Canal Zone, on the 14th.

• The following appeared on 22 June 1941 in the Macon Telegraph & News: Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Pegues of Fort Warren, Wyoming, announce the engagement of their daughter, Frances, to Lt. Herbert I. Shingler of Ashburn, Ga., now stationed at McDill Field, Tampa, Fla.
• Frances I. Humphries became a widow at the 11 September 1947 death of her husband Claude Wynne Pegues.
• The following appeared on 5 June 1950 in the Omaha Evening World-Herald: Lieut. Col. and Mrs. Herbert I. Shingler, Jr., entertained 25 guests at a buffet supper Saturday evening at their home in Bellevue. The party honored Mrs. Shingler's mother, Mrs. Frances Pegues of Jacksonville, Fla., and her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn E. Yates of Macon, Ga. The visitors will leave Wednesday for their homes.
