Kent was born on June 11, 1919 and raised in Salida, Co. with two brothers Shale and Rick Smith. She and eleven of her high school girl friends formed the infamous Twiddle Twaddle Twelve (TTT). They have remained close friends for over 60 years. Kent married her high school sweetheart George Swift in 1939 in Houston, and raised their three sons in Tyler, Texas. In 1999 she became a resident of The Terrace at Willowbrook in Houston where she lived for the past 7 years. Kent is survived by her sons Steve Swift and wife, Lynn who reside in Jakarta Indonesia and Dennis Swift and wife Gloria of Houston, her granddaughter Jackie of Tyler, Tx. and grandsons, Brett & Chris of Houston and Graham and wife Miriam of Atlanta, Ga. Kent is preceded in death by her husband George, her son Terry, granddaughter Kelly and brother Shale Smith. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Klein Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 4:00 p.m. at Cathedral in the Pines cemetery in Tyler, Tx.
