  • Fleming Davies Tinsley was born on 7 August 1847 in Milledgeville, Baldwin County, Georgia.
  • He married Martha Rodman Ruan, daughter of John Gibbs Ruan and Amanda M. Kilbee, on 31 January 1883 in Bibb County, Georgia, and Martha's brother John married Fleming's sister Rebecca.
  • The following appeared on 11 August 1906 in The Macon Daily Telegraph: (Bibb County) Fleming D. Tinsley, having applied for letters of guardianship for the person and property of Albert G. Ruan. This is, therefore, to notify all persons interested that his application will be heard on the first Monday in September, 1906. C. M. Wiley, Ordinary.
  • Fleming Davies Tinsley and Martha Rodman Ruan appeared in the US federal census of 15 April 1910 in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, at 901 Whitaker Street. Other members of the household included Albert Gibbs Ruan. Albert was the orphaned son of Fleming's sister Rebecca and Martha's brother John.
  • He was an exporter of phospate rock, according to the 1910 census.
  • The following appeared on 23 March 1913 in The Miami Herald: (Savannah, March 22) Fleming B. Tinsley, a member of the cotton firm of Tinsley & Hall, who recently failed, was indicted by the grand jury here for grand larceny today. The amount involved in one indictment is $22,000. Tinsley was arrested and gave bond.
  • Accused of stealing 275 bales of cotton valued at $22,000 from the Savannah Trust Company, he was tried and found not guilty of larceny.
  • The following appeared on 25 August 1916 in The Marietta Journal: Miss Eliza Ruan died Sunday and was carried to Macon for interment by Mr. Fleming Tinsley and Mr. Albert Ruan.
  • His wife Martha Rodman Ruan became a widow at his death.
  • He was interred at Riverside Cemetery, Macon, Bibb County, Georgia.
  • Fleming Davies Tinsley died on 14 May 1920 at age 72 in Cobb County, Georgia, or the 13th.
