• The following appeared on 4 March 1892 in The Macon Telegraph: The sad news reached Macon from Washington, D. C. yesterday, that Mrs. Fannie Lockett was dead. /P/ Mrs. Lockett breathed her last at the residence of her son, Mr. George W. Lockett, 1776 Massachusetts avenue, on Wednesday morning. /P/ The deceased was 58 years of age, and was well known in Macon, having resided here all her life. She was the mother of Mr. J. W. Lockett, and Mrs. W. P. Coleman of this city, and for a number of years was a devoted member of Christ church. /P/ The remains of Mrs. Lockett will reach Macon, over the Central road, at 8 o'clock this morning. The funeral will take place from christ church at 10 o'clock, and her body will be interred in the family lot, at Rose Hill cemetery. /P/ The pall-bearers are: Messrs. J. B. Hanson, W. H. Ross, B. C. Smith, R. H. Plant, J. F. Rogers, M. J. Hatcher, J. M. Johnston and Dr. J. S. Baxter.
