Daniel

- Daniel was born on 10 February 1836 in Montgomery County, Alabama, at Greenwood plantation.
- On Monday, 27 July 1857, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "found a single Cattapillar to day, some boll worms in the cotton, the fly showing often. Give Danniel a pair of Shoes for finding the cattapillar." And on Wednesday, the 29th, "Arch found another single Catterpillar, give him a good hat, 1.50."
- On Wednesday, 13 January 1864, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Sent off 5 negro men to work for government viz Laurens, Tom, Dan, Ephraim & Charles."
- Following emancipation, Daniel adopted the name Daniel McLemore.
- He married Elizabeth on 30 December 1866 in Montgomery County, Texas, with John E. George, JP, officiating.
- On the voter registration list for Montgomery County, Danville Precinct, dated 6 August 1867: Frank Venable, Frank Venable, Daniel McLemore, Adam Moses, Ben Harris, Smith Barnes, Beverly Harris and Charles Moses.
- Daniel and Elizabeth appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1870 in Danville PO, Montgomery County, Texas, enumerated next to the household of William Barnes Wood.
- He was a farmer, according to the 1870 census.

- He was a farmer, according to the 1880 census.
