         Mr. Fort, who lived at 2004 28th St. West, was born in Blount Springs and lived in Marion Junction before moving to Birmingham 47 years ago.
         He was a graduate of Auburn University, at 32nd-degree Mason, a member of Zamora Shrine Temple and an elder of Ensley Highland Presbyterian Church.
         Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Fort; and two sons, George A. Fort of Gary, Ind., and Sam B. Fort Jr. of Bessemer. The family suggests that any memorials be made in the form of contributions to a favorite charity.
  • The following appeared on 26 November 1968 in The Birmingham News: Mrs. Evelyn Adams Fort, 0f 2004 28th St. West, who died Sunday, was a native of Faunsdale. She lived in Birmingham 57 years. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Elmwood, Angwin Mortuary Center directing. Survivors are two sons, Sam B. Fort Jr. of Bessemer and George A Fort of Gary, Ind; and a sister, Mrs. J. E. Torbert of Demopolis.
