  • The following appeared on 15 February 1932 in The Charlotte Observer: (Cheraw, S. C., Feb 14) Mrs. Walter D. Pegues, 67, member of a prominent Cheraw and Marlboro county family, died Sunday afternoon at her home here from a stroke of paralysis which she suffered Sunday morning. Before her marriage, she was Miss Ida Irby, daughter of William W. and Julia Mary Pegues Irby of Marlboro county where she was reared.
         She is survived by her husband and four children, Misses Olivia, Ethel and Julia Pegues of Cheraw and Charlie Pegues of Raleigh; two brothers, Joe Irby of Cheraw and William Irby of Florida; and two sisters, Miss Julia and Rebecca Irby of Florida. The funeral arrangements have not been completed.
