Elijah W. Teague

b. circa 1845
  • Elijah W. Teague was born circa 1845 in Alabama.
  • Elijah Teague appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1850 in Benton (later Calhoun) County, Alabama. Other members of the household included Elijah W. Teague, Susan Teague, Mary Teague, L. Teague, Robert Joel Teague, ? L. Teague, Rachal or Rebecca Teague and James or Joel C. B. Teague. Also in the household was E. M. Dunkin (female, age 7, born in Alabama); note that her name is the last on the page, and there is a Dunkin family at the bottom of the succeeding page, so likely enumerator error.
  • The following appeared on 22 March 1879 in The Jacksonville Republican: (Probate Court, March 17) This day came Elijah W. Teague and produced and filed in court a paper in writing purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of Elijah Teague, deceased, and moves to court to admit said Will to probate. It is therefore ordered that the 14th day of April 1879 be set for hearing the said application; and that notice be given by publication in the Jacksonville Republican, a newspaper published in said county, for three successive weeks prior to said day as a notice to: Lidie M. Evans, Sarah A. Kelley, Lurana J. Brock, who are nieces at law and next of kin to the deceased; and who are non-residents of the state of Alabama, to be and appear at a regular term of said court to be held at the courthouse of said county on said 14th day of April 1879 and show if anything they have to allege why said Will should not be admitted to probate. L. W. Cannon, Judge of Probate.
