- Elijah Teague and Margaret Thompson appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1830 in Calvert, Abbeville District, South Carolina, enumerated not far from Elijah's parents.. Other (counted but unnamed) members of the household apparently included Mary Teague, Susan Teague.
- Mary Teague was born circa 1831 in South Carolina.
- Elijah Teague appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1850 in Benton (later Calhoun) County, Alabama. Other members of the household included Mary Teague, Susan Teague, L. Teague, Robert Joel Teague, ? L. Teague, Rachal or Rebecca Teague, Elijah W. Teague and James or Joel C. B. Teague. Also in the household was E. M. Dunkin (female, age 7, born in Alabama); note that her name is the last on the page, and there is a Dunkin family at the bottom of the succeeding page, so likely enumerator error.
