- Lewis Dupree and Lavinia Adeline Daves appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1850 in Grimes County, Texas, enumerated next to his brother Jusse.. Other members of the household included Jesse G. T. Dupree, Martha G. P. Dupree, James F. Dupree, Samuel Francis Dupree, Rebecca Adeline Caroline Dupree and Robert Peeples Dupree. According to at least one researcher, the Grimes/Montgomery county line ran through his property.
