  • The following appeared in a local newspaper: Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 8, 1933 at 10:00 a.m. by the Rev. W.T. Edwards, pastor of the Linden Baptist Church, for Judge William Cuninghame, 76, who died Wednesday morning at his home here in Linden after an illness of many months.
         Judge Cuninghame, who was born and reared in Marengo and Clarke counties, had lived in Linden since 1882. He was a prominent member of the Bar Association and for many years president of the Marengo County Bank.
         Surviving are the widow, Eula Woolf Cuninghame, one son, James Ashby (Jack) Cuninghame, and five daughters, Miss Caroline Cuninghame, and Mesdames Mary Mullinix, R.D. Hartzell, and G.W. Torbert, all of Linden, and Mrs. George Griffith of Columbus, Ga; two brothers, Mr. George Westwood Cuninghame of Linden and Judge Jim Cuninghame of Grove Hill; four sisters, Miss Mattie Cuninghame and Mrs. N.C. Martin of Thomasville, Mrs. H.P. Pugh of Grove Hill, and Mrs. N.C. Todd of Mobile, and a number of grandchildren.
         Burial was made at Linden cemetery with Brislin Brothers in charge.
         Pall bearers were Herman and Will Todd, Mobile; Cecil Martin, Thomasville; Jack Cammack, Camden; Whitfield Torbert and R.D. Hartzell of Linden.
