- The following appeared on 8 August 1935 in a local newspaper: Funeral services for August Blanke, age 70, were conducted Tuesday at 2 p. m. at the Wittkopp Funeral home and at 2:30 o'clock at the Plymouth Reformed church with Rev. H. G. Schmid officiating. During the services at the church Mrs. George Schmoll and Miss Ruth Beisser accompanied by Mrs. Fred Stransky, sang "Ueber den Sternen" and "In Herrn Entschlummert."
Pallbearers were Julius Wessel, Edward Heckman, Alfred Boeger, Elmer Kretsch, Gustav Weisel and Arno Schulz.
Burial was made in Union Cemetery.
