  • Robert Carl Adam Dexheimer was born on 24 September 1876 in Wisconsin.
  • George Dexheimer and Elizabeth Gessert appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1880 in Rantoul, Calumet County, Wisconsin. Other members of the household included Robert Carl Adam Dexheimer, John W. Dexheimer, George Dexheimer, Mary Dexheimer, Anna Josephine Dexheimer, Jacob Dexheimer, Adam Dexheimer and Bertha Dexheimer.
  • He married Lillie Leonhardt, daughter of Louis Leonhardt and Annie Jonne, on 4 October 1902 in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin.
  • The following appeared on 3 May 1913 in the Sheboygan Press: Mrs. Elizabeth Dexheimer, 67 years old, well known and highly esteemed throughout the city and county, passed away at her home, 1318 Superior avenue at 8:15 o'clock last evening. She had been ill for some time. Monday evening shortly after 6 o'clock while descending a stairway she suffered a stroke of apoplexy and fell to the bottom. She was in the house alone at the time, with within a short time her son Adam entered and assisted as best he could. She was still conscious. Medical assistance was summoned and every known means was used to prolong life, but she gradually became weaker. Tuesday afternoon she became unconscious and remained in that condition until the end.
         Mrs. Dexheimer was born in Germany, March 18, 1846. Her maiden name was Gessert. She was a widow of George Dexheimer who died about 26 years ago. They then lived in the Town of Rantoul, Calumet county. She moved to this city about ten years ago.
         Seven children survive: Mrs. Anton Michaels, Marysville, Mont; Mrs. Henry Herrin, Jacob and Conrad Dexheimer, Grand Falls, Mont; Adam and Robert Dexheimer of this city and Mrs. Arthur Horneck, Elkhart Lake. Two brothers reside near Marshfield and two sisters in Milwaukee.
         The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:15 o'clock, services being conducted at the home. The Rev. E. R. Krueger will officiate and interment will be in Wildwood.
         Dispatches were received this morning announcing that the three children from Montana would reach here in time for the funeral. They are expected this evening.
  • Robert Carl Adam Dexheimer registered for the draft on 12 September 1918 in Wisconsin while living with his wife Lilly at 1324 Superior Avenue in Sheboygan, and employed there as a foundry foreman by Jenkins Machine Company.
  • The following appeared in a local newspaper: Funeral services for George Dexheimer were held at 3:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the Robert Horneck Funeral Home, with the Rev. Otto Scheib of Random Lake officiating. Interment was made in the Elkhart Lake cemetery.
         Mr. Dexheimer, aged 76, passed away at the Plymouth hospital on Sunday. He was born in the town of Rhine and moved to Hilbert with his parents as a boy. He had lived at Elkhart Lake for the past 45 years.
         Survivors are a sister and three brothers, namely: Mrs. Elizabeth Berg of Hilbert, Adam and Robert Dexheimer of Sheboygan, and Conrad of Berkley, California. He had been a cheesemaker for several years and worked in and about Elkhart Lake.
