- The following appeared on 3 May 1913 in the Sheboygan Press: Mrs. Elizabeth Dexheimer, 67 years old, well known and highly esteemed throughout the city and county, passed away at her home, 1318 Superior avenue at 8:15 o'clock last evening. She had been ill for some time. Monday evening shortly after 6 o'clock while descending a stairway she suffered a stroke of apoplexy and fell to the bottom. She was in the house alone at the time, with within a short time her son Adam entered and assisted as best he could. She was still conscious. Medical assistance was summoned and every known means was used to prolong life, but she gradually became weaker. Tuesday afternoon she became unconscious and remained in that condition until the end.
Mrs. Dexheimer was born in Germany, March 18, 1846. Her maiden name was Gessert. She was a widow of George Dexheimer who died about 26 years ago. They then lived in the Town of Rantoul, Calumet county. She moved to this city about ten years ago.
Seven children survive: Mrs. Anton Michaels, Marysville, Mont; Mrs. Henry Herrin, Jacob and Conrad Dexheimer, Grand Falls, Mont; Adam and Robert Dexheimer of this city and Mrs. Arthur Horneck, Elkhart Lake. Two brothers reside near Marshfield and two sisters in Milwaukee.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:15 o'clock, services being conducted at the home. The Rev. E. R. Krueger will officiate and interment will be in Wildwood.
Dispatches were received this morning announcing that the three children from Montana would reach here in time for the funeral. They are expected this evening.
