- Bertha Dexheimer was born circa 4 August 1878 in Hilbert, Calumet County, Wisconsin.
- George Dexheimer and Elizabeth Gessert appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1880 in Rantoul, Calumet County, Wisconsin. Other members of the household included Bertha Dexheimer, John W. Dexheimer, George Dexheimer, Mary Dexheimer, Anna Josephine Dexheimer, Jacob Dexheimer, Adam Dexheimer and Robert Carl Adam Dexheimer.
- Bertha Dexheimer appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1900 in Elkhart Lake, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, enumerated as a house servant in a hotel operated by Otto Osthoff.
- She married Arthur J. Horneck, son of Philipp Horneck and Catharina Hartmann, on 28 January 1903 in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin.

- The following appeared on 3 May 1913 in the Sheboygan Press: Mrs. Elizabeth Dexheimer, 67 years old, well known and highly esteemed throughout the city and county, passed away at her home, 1318 Superior avenue at 8:15 o'clock last evening. She had been ill for some time. Monday evening shortly after 6 o'clock while descending a stairway she suffered a stroke of apoplexy and fell to the bottom. She was in the house alone at the time, with within a short time her son Adam entered and assisted as best he could. She was still conscious. Medical assistance was summoned and every known means was used to prolong life, but she gradually became weaker. Tuesday afternoon she became unconscious and remained in that condition until the end.
Mrs. Dexheimer was born in Germany, March 18, 1846. Her maiden name was Gessert. She was a widow of George Dexheimer who died about 26 years ago. They then lived in the Town of Rantoul, Calumet county. She moved to this city about ten years ago.
Seven children survive: Mrs. Anton Michaels, Marysville, Mont; Mrs. Henry Herrin, Jacob and Conrad Dexheimer, Grand Falls, Mont; Adam and Robert Dexheimer of this city and Mrs. Arthur Horneck, Elkhart Lake. Two brothers reside near Marshfield and two sisters in Milwaukee.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:15 o'clock, services being conducted at the home. The Rev. E. R. Krueger will officiate and interment will be in Wildwood.
Dispatches were received this morning announcing that the three children from Montana would reach here in time for the funeral. They are expected this evening. - Bertha Dexheimer died on 4 April 1916 in Sheboyban, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, at St. Nicholas Hospital.

- She was interred at Saint Johns Cemetery, Rhine, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin.
- The following appeared on 8 April 1916 in the Plymouth Post: (Elkhart Lake) Mrs. Bertha Horneck, nee Dexheimer, wife of Arthur Horneck, died at the St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan following an operation on Saturday. She was born in 1878 in Hilbert and lived to be 38 years. She was married in 1902 to Mr. Horneck by whom she is survived with 6 children; 6 brothers and 3 sisters. The burial is Saturday in the Elkhart Lake cemetery with Pastor Bixer officiating.
